What Is Ziplyft?

Ziplyft is a minimally invasive treatment for excess upper eyelid skin, also called dermatochalasis. Serving patients from Boise and throughout the Treasure Valley, The Eye Associates offers Ziplyft at our offices in Meridian and Caldwell for patients who want a refreshed, more open eyelid appearance without traditional surgery.

Unlike conventional blepharoplasty, which involves cutting, cautery, and sutures, Ziplyft uses a gentle compression technique to remove excess skin. There is no bleeding during the procedure and no stitches to remove afterward.

How Ziplyft Works

Ziplyft is performed in the office using only local anesthetic. A specialized device gently compresses the excess eyelid skin, then a precision blade removes it. The incision is closed with medical adhesive instead of sutures.

The entire process typically takes ten to fifteen minutes per eye, compared to thirty to sixty minutes for traditional eyelid surgery. Because there is no cautery or stitching involved, healing tends to be faster and more comfortable.

Recovery After Ziplyft

Most patients notice mild swelling or pinkness immediately after treatment. There are no visible stitches or bandages. Many people return to their normal daily activities within a few days, rather than the two to three weeks often needed after traditional blepharoplasty.

Is Ziplyft Right for You

Ziplyft works best for patients with isolated excess upper eyelid skin and otherwise healthy eyelid structure. If there is significant fat bulging, muscle related drooping, or more complex anatomical concerns, traditional blepharoplasty or a combined approach may be a better fit.

Every patient's eyelid anatomy is different. Our team will evaluate your eyelids in detail to recommend the safest and most natural looking option for your goals.
