JACOB EVANS, MD
Dr. Jacob Evans graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Neuroscience from Brigham Young University. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine, followed by an internship at the University of South Dakota, and a residency in ophthalmology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Dr. Evans is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ASCRS), and the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (AAPOS).
Dr. Evans is excited to join The Eye Associates team of physicians, providing compassionate care while practicing comprehensive ophthalmology, specializing in cataract surgery, refractive surgery, glaucoma surgery and laser treatment, corneal surface surgery, specialized dry eye treatments, ocular injections for conditions such as diabetes and macular degeneration, eyelid and brow cosmetics and oculo- plastics, cosmetic Botox, and pediatrics.
Dr. Evans enjoys educating patients about their eyes and has been known to use props like footballs, diagrams, and videos to demonstrate eye conditions and treatments. He was a Clinical Instructor of medical students at the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine.
Dr. Evans has always looked forward to opportunities for service in his field, and enjoyed volunteering at the Department of Ophthalmology’s Free Eye Clinics for the University of Wisconsin-Madison and University of Iowa’s College of Medicine.
Dr. Evans earned distinctions in both research and teaching with his medical degree, and was inducted into medicine’s most rigorous honor society, Alpha Omega Alpha.
Dr. Evans is excited to return to the Treasure Valley with his wife and three children, to be closer to the active lifestyle our community provides, and to in-laws who are thrilled to be called into action as babysitters.
